"Farm Table, Early Nineteenth Century."
This farmhouse, kitchen or pantry table is full of the rustic charm of country furniture made by local carpenters in local species, it bears the scars of its rustic use. Found in an adorable little Sologne mansion where it still served as a dining table and a kitchen table, it is no exception to the rule and bears the traces of intense use, we certainly had to cut the game and prepare the vegetables. , still earthy, freshly picked from the vegetable garden. Its manufacture with tenon and mortise is summary, even if the assembly is pegged, the craftsman who conceived it is also ensured of its solidity by many nails which appear here and there. It is made of fruit wood, has a long drawer in the center of the belt which crosses the table in its width and is pulled from one side to the other using a brass button. On one end is a deep drawer which is provided with a button and a steel rosette, on the other end there is a device which was intended to receive an extension which has now disappeared, finally on this side a pull tab called sliding releases by opening a space where one stored the loaf of bread. Period early 19th century. Dimensions 194 cm x 85 cm, tray height 79.5 cm, leg passage height 54 cm and leg passage under the large drawer 50 cm.
