Bomb in gold-plated copper, the gutter of the base of the bomb is of the 1858 model with a single round ring. Strong leather turban covered with a panther skin headband. Visor and neck cover in gilded brass, each edged with a gilded brass ring folded astride the outer border. Visor lined with green waxed morocco, neck cover lined with black waxed morocco. Crest in stamped and gilded brass, composed of a mask stamped with a flaming bomb surmounted by a head of medusa in relief with above a wreath of laurel and oak branches; two fins struck by a decreasing series of 8 gadroons framed by pearls of acanthus leaves and palmettes and in the upper part of a series of bay leaves; cover plate stamped with a decoration depicting a braided mane. H of the fins 12 cm, width of the mask 4.3 cm, H of the mask 14 cm. Brass crest ornament composed of an olive decorated with palmettes, a socket with laurel branches and palmettes whose base is decorated with a small serrated disc, and a black horsehair puff (H 6 cm). Golden brass plume holder decorated with laurel branches, H 4.6 cm. Chinstrap model 1858, mounted on a metal chin bar sheathed in black velvet, covered with a series of chiseled rings interwoven in gilded and chiseled brass, terminated by a rosette stamped with laurel leaves, fixed to the turban by means of a screw. Mane in black horsehair, apparent length of about 55 cm. Sheepskin inner cap cut into 7 wolf teeth. Wooden transport box covered with black waxed paper with brass closures and handle. Interior lined with ivory chamois leather. Exterior of the box with glued and partially torn transport labels, one of which is handwritten (difficult to read). Perfect state of conservation, helmet with slightly oxidized top of the crest, left chin bar with derivative rivet button but quite complete, transport box with paper gaps in the lower part. France.
