"Pair Of Candlesticks Empire Brown Patina"
Magnificent pair of torches with black and golden patina. The barrel is chiseled on its upper part, octagonal in the shape of a quiver with cut sides, bobèche in Medici vase after a model by Claude Galle (see footnote in miscellaneous). The delicacy of the bronze carving and the quality of execution of this pair of candelabras is entirely in the style of the productions of the First Empire.
The structure of the base, combining feet with griffin heads on a circular base decorated with water leaves, is also found on a number of candelabras put on sale in recent years and attributed to the Master Bronzier.
