Oil on canvas (62cm x 46cm) and its period carved wooden frame (82cm x67cm). Sold with a certificate of authenticity. This 17th century Dutch painting depicts a port scene animated by characters. You can recognize English and Dutch ships by the flags of the boats. A church culminates on the tip of the shore. This painting can be compared to the work of Jacob Storck. This painter was born on September 8, 1641 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He comes from a family of artists, he is the second son of Johannes Sturckenburch, the younger brother of the painter Abraham Storck his eldest, and of Johannes Storck. He died in 1692. He is particularly known for his port scenes.
