Elegant 18th century portico clock. Louis XVI period. signed "Roque à Paris" watchmaker listed in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers. Made up of white marble and a fine ornamentation in gilded bronze with mercury, finely chiseled.Architecture with two columns chiseled with flutes adorned with asparagus. supporting the upper part. decorated with foliage scrolls and a covered vase. Large domed dial in white enamel accompanied by finely worked hands. the whole protected by a curved glass.
The space between the columns is occupied by a flowering drapery and an oscillating sun pendulum. Base decorated with laurel friezes and a row of pearls.
Original mechanism without modification, suspension with silk thread, striking of the hours and half-hours on an old bell. Mechanism stamped "ROQUE PARIS NUMERO 1005"
An 18th century clock, Louis XVI, perfectly representative of its time with great finesse and elegance. Perfect authenticity and a remarkable state of conservation.
