"Very Pretty Pearl Sablé Purse"
This pretty purse is made with the delicate technique of pearl shortbread. Polychrome flower decoration on a gray background. The shortbread technique appeared in the 17th century. The beads used are the size of grains of sand, hence the name of the process, and are so fine that they sometimes have to be threaded onto the silk thread with a hair. This model has between 50 and 55 beads per cm2 depending on the patterns. Reference: La Gazette Drouot of September 4, 2020.
