Object description :

"Low Carved Buffet, Louis XV Style, End Of The 18th Century."
Splendite Louis XV style low sideboard in fruit wood, waxed finish. It opens in front by two leaves with frames strongly carved with flowers and foliage. The panels are carved in the lower part of a reserve decorated with a shell. The central frame is fixed. The lower crosspiece is largely scalloped and richly carved with a central motif representing two flowering stems. The crosspieces on the sides of this piece of furniture are scalloped and molded. The four legs end in pleasant volutes. This very elegant piece of furniture is equipped with two interior drawers lined with felt and fitted out to accommodate a housewife. Following usual repairs, the ends of the legs were redone as well as the top. The back of this piece of furniture is made of very thick wood showing the quality of an old work dating from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, visible thanks to the traces of the tools used (varlopes and manual saw ...) see last Photo.
