Doris" (referenced pseudonym of the artist), circa 1930/1940. Motifs of the mahout and the elephant surrounded by exotic palms. Very good quality of drawing and enamelling, including gold highlights, on a green background and drawing in black and brown. Very good conservation. René Buthaud, artist with many faces, passed through the Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and Paris, as well as by the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, was passionate throughout his career for the art of ceramics. He is the author of many pieces, all original and in the Art Deco vein. It is here a very beautiful vase which testifies to the quality of his work, widely recognized since the death of the artist in 1986. Size: 15 cm in diameter, 25 cm in height.
