"Monkey Carving In Carved Wood, Japan"
Magnificent Japanese sculpture of a Japanese macaque monkey. It is made of carved wood, bone teeth and the eyes are partly made of horn, wood and bone.
Work that can be compared to the wooden sculpture of the monkey of Yugawa listed on the twitter of the "Smithsonian Libraries". This monkey went on sale in 1898 at the American Art Galleries in New York.

Condition: very good general condition. Some wear of use and small crack in the wood. THE PHOTOS ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION .
Period : MEIJI (1868-1912).
Signature: no signature.
Dimensions : Width : 29 cm - Height : 42 cm. - Depth : 22 cm.
