Louis XVI Style Potpourri Vase flag

Object description :

"Louis XVI Style Potpourri Vase"
Very beautiful neoclassical cassolette dating from the 1st half of the 19th century, forming a pot-pourri.
it is inspired by antiquity: in the shape of an Athenian, it can serve you as a medley.
it is tripod and consists of a marble base resting on small gilt bronze tops.
the marble basin is supported by a central gilt bronze foot decorated with palm leaves and fruits. three other ornamental feet decorated with clawed feet and heads of fauns support this marble basin, the top of which is an openwork frieze in gilded bronze forming a pot-pourri and decorated with griffins.
the horns of the fauns roll up all around the top of the basin.
a marble cover enclosed by gilt bronze palmettes tops the whole.
the catch of the gilded bronze cover is a stylized pine cone resting on palmettes of which one is missing, take a good look at the photos thank you.
the contrast between the marble, the black and golden patinas of the bronzes is superb.
some small cracks on the basin but nothing important.
a very beautiful casserole dish inspired by antiquity and very decorative.
