Object description :

"North American Indian, Tomahawk"
These smoking pipes, although derived from Indian ideas, are almost always European or American in manufacture. From the 16th cent. hatchet and blades were one of the most significant articles traded to Indians. They were used as weapons but also in rituals. Since pipes were used during the making of treaties the Europeans started to combine the two objects in one.
Not sure about the age.
