Origin: rare, exceptional and very fine Kachan-Mortachem (Persia). Age: late 19th century. Workshop of the Shah, directed by the famous master weaver Mortachemi.Dimensions: 200.5 132 cm Density: approximately 9,000 to 9,500 knots per dm Technical characteristics: velvet in lamb Kork wool, silky of very high quality. Cotton chains, weft and fringes. Description: ivory field with fine branches of floral palmettes in a geometrically stylized pastel tone forming a large cabochon-shaped medallion inlaid with a central midnight blue medallion, adorned with flower bulbs and stylized diamond-shaped spear tips. Four beige spandrels recalling the central field. Main midnight blue border with geometrically styled ivory flower buds and petals.
