represent The War of the Three Henrys
Late 18th century ivory plaque
Important carved ivory panel depicting one of the
victory in the wars of religion.
The vanquished, Henry III of France and Henry 1st Duke of
Guess. Henry III of Navarre, who became Henry IV and his
Marie de Medici woman full length, facing each other.
In the center of the panel, sculpted in low and high relief,
the representation of the battle of Ivry (1590).
Below a scene representing the king and his famous
white plume.
