"17th Century Dutch Style Frame"
This pretty molded frame alternates the rosewood veneer with guilloche rods which bring out a bone fillet encircling the flat area towards the view. The angles are underlined by a veneer in imitation of the red colored tortoise shell. (in the 17th century, the coloring of this was done by means of a silver leaf tinted in red and plated against the scale by the reverse allowing by this device to obtain the most wonderful results.
