"Soup Tureen In Silver, Empire Period, By Odiot In Paris."
Beautiful soup tureen in solid silver, 1st Empire period.
By Jean-Baptiste-Claude ODIOT, great Parisian goldsmith.

Oval in shape, it rests on a plain foot ending with a frieze decorated with palmettes, recalling the lid.
The body is united. The attachments of the handles are also decorated with large palmettes.
The cover is finished with an elegant catch resting on an openwork terrace.
It is hallmarked with the 2nd rooster and listed after the Vieillard (1819 to 1838).
Hallmark of the silversmith in its JBCO diamond.
The grip is held by a nicely crafted nut.
