"Canivet, Painted Parchment, 18th Century, Under Blown Glass."
Beautiful 18th century convent work, finely cut parchment or vellum painted on engraved lines, framed in a rather tired golden baguette, under its original blown glass with a bluish tint. Work of a Languedoc convent, (because of the color of the glass) 18th century. The scene is quite atypical: Message of religious peace, perhaps related to Protestantism, laying down of arms, musket and spears, under the authority of the seated Christ .... The medallion is surrounded by cornucopias overflowing with polychrome fruits of the expected peace. The gutter has been unframed for cleaning, and will reach you properly closed. Dimensions: 20cm x 16.5cm. Good condition, apart from the gilding of the frame, some wear, no flaws. Take a good look at the photos .... Shipping with tracking from France, Tel: 0665241111
