Short biography of the artist: Jules Salesse; painter and decorator, student of painters Jean Paul ALAUX, Adrien DAUZATS and Pierre Luc Charles CICERI with whom he learned decoration. He decorated with his student and future partner Ernest Betton, the theaters of Poitiers, La Rochelle, Périgueux, the concert hall of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, the Foyer Rouge of the Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux (The current Foyer Rouge corresponds to the one created in 1865 by Charles Bugue) and the Casino Mauresque in Arcachon. He was the painter of festivals and public Bordeaux establishments from 1853 to 1869.
