SABER AT ROTATING GUARD OF LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICER, REVOLUTION - CONSULATE. Brass frame. Three-branch guard with main branch decorated with two secondary branches that can be unfolded on each side and thus creating a frame enveloping the hand of the rider. The top has a quillon in the shape of a scallop and on each side under the top are screwed two steel springs to block the two side branches. The crown has a long tail decorated with fillets. Wooden handle entirely filigree silver. Brass ferrule decorated with lines. Curved blade with hollow sides engraved with floral decorations, a coat of arms with a crescent in its center, a Turk's head and the inscription "L 3". These decorations are golden with a blued background. Blade length 80 cm. Wooden scabbard sheathed in black waxed leather with three brass fittings with scalloped edges decorated with lines. Brass eyebolts with steel rings.
