"Altar Cabinet - China Circa 1930"Large Chinese cabinet in lacquered and carved wood early twentieth.
Many hand-painted polychrome motifs : animated landscapes, dragons, characters, fish, plants, decorate this atypical and masterful Asian piece of furniture.
It consists of two parts :
A chest opening with two leaves, surmounted by a border adorned with four dogs of fô in carved and gilded wood.
The interior of this trunk is fully lacquered in red.
An upper part composed of five panels decorated with carved and gilded wooden dragons, secured by hinges like a screen.
The larger of the panels fits into the trunk.
Good general condition, presence of shocks on the wood, lacquer lacks (see photos).
This piece of furniture with extraordinary dimensions deserves a restoration in order to restore it to its original shine.
