Very pretty pendulum sure of reading theme, of excellent manufacture with perfect condition of mercury gilding. Empire period in gilded bronze with mercury. Signed "Gérard à Paris" watchmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers.

A figure of a young woman draped in the antique style busy reading. Leaning on a bollard welcoming the domed white enamel dial underlined by an outline of water leaves. The surface is adorned with Rocases corners and a frieze chiseled with lyres and palmettes.

Rectangular base decorated with a richly worked frieze and an outline of water leaves.

Original mechanism without modification, suspension with silk thread, hour and half hour strike on an old bell.

Clock of excellent manufacture, Perfect authenticity as well as a remarkable state of conservation.

A sober model of excellent conservation quality, well proportioned and beautiful from all angles.
