The pleasant Madonna and Child that we present to you, also known as Madonna of the Lilies, is inspired by the famous composition by Carlo Dolci, the undisputed protagonist of seventeenth-century painting in Florence and an artist praised by critics and biographers already of his time.
Thanks to the creation of extraordinary works, executed with impeccable diligence and with a descriptive rigor that we could say "hyperrealist", Dolci was greatly appreciated by the most illustrious members of the Medici House and the European nobility, leading his workshop to satisfy numerous requests from a very demanding client.
As the prototype of the splendid Madonna under examination denotes, her painting stands out for the masterful definition of the figures, often collected in ecstatic poses and almost kissed by an enveloping moonlight, and for the intriguing and almost maniacal attention to detail. .
Our canvas, datable around the 1780s, although made by a pupil, nevertheless denotes a particular finesse and executive quality.
The painting is in excellent condition, perfectly restored and relined, complete with a beautiful antique frame in carved, perforated and gilded wood.
The painting, like all our objects, is sold with a certificate of photographic authenticity in accordance with the law (FIMA - CINOA)
