Object description :

"Old Cane In Carved Ivory From The Early 18th Century."
Very rare old cane with carved ivory pommel from the beginning of the 18th century. Representing an allegory of the hunt represented by an inextricable group of toddlers carrying pikes and animals: dog catching a hare, wild boar, intertwined deer, 18th century silver ring, later 19th century rosewood barrel, brass ferrule ending by a 19th century steel heel. Total length of the cane 92 cm. Note some cracks in the pommel or even the photos, let's not forget that this pommel is over three hundred years old. A rare specimen, which today in this perfect genre is very difficult to find! A real rarity in original condition and without too much damage. Due to the extraordinary quality at the highest level, this slim step knob is an absolute eye-catcher in every collection! A real joy for all lovers in search of rare 18th century canes. This type of representation even has comparable takes, earlier in the specialized literature. THE CANE OBJECT OF ART Catherine Dike / Guy Bezzaz, page 134, Figure 5
