"Chalice And Its Paten In Golden Silver. France XIXth Century By Favier"
Chalice and paten in vermeil. The chalice is decorated in a neo-Gothic style. The base is multi-lobed with a projection rich in embossed and chiseled decoration with trefoil crosses, rosettes, pearls, vines, lilies. The stem is tubular with a ring and a knot in the shape of a flattened ball, tightened by rows of pearls and underlined by stylized buttons in the shape of rosettes. The faux-coupe is cut and pierced with starry flower patterns. The conical vase is screwed into the stem. Paten is in vermeil representing in its center a haloed mystical lamb with cross and banner and the inscription / AGNUS DEI PANIS VIVVS. Silver 950/1000 Minerva hallmarks Hallmarks on the cut, false-cut and the foot of the chalice and on the paten. This set was executed between 1846 and 1870 by Pierre Henry Favier established 44 quai des Orfèvres in Paris.
