Marble by Paul-Gabriel Capellaro (1862-1956) representing the goddess Hebe. In Greek mythology Hebe was the youngest daughter of Zeuss and Hera; she personified eternal youth. Signed on the side of the base. Paul-Gabriel Capellaro is the son of Charles Romain Capellaro (1826-1899) who is a sculptor and statuary. He studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris with Augustin Dumont, Gabriel-Jules Thomas and Mathurin Moreau. In 1886, at the age of 24, Paul-Gabriel Capellaro won the First Prix de Rome. He stayed at the Villa Medici, in Rome, from 1887 to 1890.Contact me for delivery.
