Object description :

"Cruettes And Their Basin In Golden Silver, France XIXth Century"
Pair of cruets and their vermeil basin. The burettes are ewer-shaped with a covered spout and an ovoid body. The lower body is surrounded by a corolla of acanthus leaves. The body of the cruets is decorated with a large frieze of rushes and vines. The edge of the foot and the shoulder of the body bear friezes of water leaves. The handle in the shape of a stick is decorated with the head of a cherub and acanthus leaves, and the cover has a bunch of grapes or a bouquet of aquatic plants as a raised gripping element. The gilded silver basin has a strong central depression and is oval in shape. It is adorned, on the edge, with a frieze of water leaves, and the marli is decorated in embossed and chiseled with an alternation of cartouches comprising, respectively, a bouquet of rushes and bunches of grapes. Silver 950/1000, Old man hallmarks.
