The work proposed, of high quality and can be placed in the context of eighteenth-century Venetian tradition, it depicts a wide landscape closed in the background by the azure view of the Alps. In this scenario a couple of wayfarers, seated while scan the horizon warmed by sunset, are portrayed in a moment of pause. Despite human presence desired by the artist for harmonizing the composition, the dominant subject of the painting is in any case the wide view of the landscape.
The taste of the view in question, where are recognizable around the Verona area, leads to assigning the canvas scope of Tommaso Porta, the main representative of the Veronese landscape painting of the second half of the eighteenth century. In this case are evident all the recognizable elements in his repertoire, the yield of the leaves into small brush strokes and color gamut, all played on the strong tones of blue, ocher and green. His canvases are always pleasant, for the grace of the content and execution refinement that shows great professionalism. The work is in excellent condition.
