"Large Empire Period Officer's Bed In Red Lacquered Metal"
Bed in burgundy red lacquered wrought iron, ornate cast iron medallions. Between two arabesques, in an oval, torch and trunk are tied in a bundle and surmounted at the head and foot of the bed by a stylized sun in a medallion. Metal castors.This bed comes from a castle in Provence, of family tradition, it would have welcomed Marshal Ney during his stays at the castle.
Period late 18th century or early 19th century.

he metal slats, a sort of slatted base, are original. Some scratches, chips, wear and gaps.
