A Large Wooden Sculpture Of The Famous Prince Phra Aphai Mani Playing His Magic Flute, Thailand.
Finely decorated with all kind of ornaments in black lacquer glass and gold.
The sculpture is in very good original old used condition, no missing fingers.
Particular the clothes hair and folds are very finely executed.
From the epic poem of Sunthorn Phu, the great poet. 1786-1855 (The Shakespeare of Siam)
He composed his famous epic poem Phra Aphai Mani on nearby Samet Island Thailand.
The statue of Sunthorn Phu is in the village of Ban Kram, birthplace of his father in the Rayong province, in 1986 has the unesco given him the title as world poet.
