"Watercolor On Paper By Henry D Anty Woman Al Child In Front Of Cathedral"
This watercolor on paper was produced by Henry d 'Anty in the 60s and 70s.
It represents what may be the symbolism of a virgin and child in front of a cathedral. We find his touch.
Everything was done by hand, a beautiful technique. In superb condition, there is a protective glass.

Henry d'Anty, is a French painter, born under the name of Maurice Henry on September 8, 1910 in the Belleville district of Paris, son of Léon Henry and Élise Maisonnave. He died at the age of 88 on December 4, 1998, and during the war of 1914-1918, his father was mobilized as a nurse. Meanwhile, with his mother, they took refuge in Saint-Cast where he was raised with a certain freedom by his grandmother Maisonnave. After nursery school, primary school and the complementary course in Saint-Maurice, he follows the courses of the Paris business school for two years. From an early age, he was drawn to drawing. He devotes his moments of freedom to pencil drawing, inspired by the surrounding landscapes. After receiving his graduation diploma, he started working with his father as a sales representative, but he got up very early in the morning to draw before leaving for work. He draws and paints on cardboard, canvases and everything he finds and can be used as a support. In 1934, he married Nelly Blondel. This marriage is part of the world of painting, because the young woman is herself a painter. Three children are born from this union: Liliane, Jean-Pierre and Nicole. Meanwhile, the war separated the young couple. Henry d'Anty was mobilized in 1939 and assigned to a medical unit. The family disperses. Grandmother Élise Henry takes the children to Escos Labastide. Henry d'Anty was taken prisoner in Berck in 1940. He escaped in 1942 and on returning to civilian life, he divorced. necessary] Henry d'Anty studied art at the Académie Julian and developed a great deal of affinity with the artists of the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. His palette is colorful. It is dominated by a powerful ruby red with which it generally combines ocher and blue. D'Anty paints large impastos which overlap one another and saturate the canvas with their light intensity. Then, he identifies the essential forms of the painting by underlining them, here and there, with black keys. The material, the shine and the choice of colors in his paintings are reminiscent of enamel. D'Anty painted scenes of rural life, country festivals and still lifes. He is inspired by Brittany, Béarn and the north of France in his landscapes despite an inspiring life in Montmartre. The files of the Petit Palais show that his works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, as well as in the main French salons. Many critics such as Guy Bataille, Jean Chabanon, Paul Reboux and André Warnod took an interest in his work. His name appears in the Bénédicte and Pierre Morgane devotes a book to him which appeared in 1962 at Éditions Maubert. D'Anty's works can be found at the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi, the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec, the Chrysler Museum of Art (USA), as well as in the museums of Warsaw and Barcelona.
