Object description :

"Bronze Buddha, Burma, Shan, XVIIIth Century"
Burma, Shan, 18th century. Buddha seated in the position of taking the witness earth (bhumisparsa mudra) on a stepped base with an incised inscription. He is dressed in the monastic robe (uttarasanga) covering the left shoulder. The hair topped with small curls is topped with the ushnisha. The half-closed eyes and the slight smile reflect the meditative and serene state of the Buddha. Her face inspires softness and serenity.
