Auguste Edme Suchetet is born on December 3, 1854. He studies at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts de Paris where he enters the studio of Jules Cavelier and Paul Dubois, between 1875 and 1880. He gets a second prize at the Prix de Rome in 1878. He participates at his first Salon of 1880 where he gets a second class medal. He wins two Gold Medals at the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900. He is the author of several monumental works in Paris including "Mathematics" at the Sorbonne and "Egyptian Art" at the Grand Palais. He also produces monuments for the cities of Troyes and Lyon. Auguste Edme Suchetet dies in Paris on May 15, 1932.
