"Bronze Bust Late Nineteenth By Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912)"
Bronze bust with five original patinas, with three different gildings, representing a Roman deity wearing a crown of roses with red patina with their foliage with slightly green patina, vintage late 19th or early 20th century, bearing the signature "Math. Moreau "and the stamp of the founder" Jollet et Cie bronze Colin et Cie ". It has a very high quality of bronze and carving. It rests on a baluster base in green marble from the Pyrenees. Dimensions: Total height 35 cm Height of the base 11 cm Height of the bronze 24 cm Width of the bronze 17 cm Mathurin Moreau is part of a family of sculptors of which he is the most famous. Son and pupil of Jean-Baptiste Moreau, his two brothers, Hippolyte-François and Louis-Auguste are also sculptors. He obtained numerous prices and numerous distinctions.
