Karl Kaufmann (Austrian. 1843-1905) Title: Port scene in Holland. LOW PRICES! The original price was 2000 euros.
Our perfect detailed piece was created by the famous Austrian landscape and architecture painter Karl Kaufmann (1843-1905). He studied at the Vienna Academy and was active in Vienna in the 1900s. "Leo Perla" is one of the most famous pseudonyms of Karl Kaufmann (1843-1905) (see ADEC price catalog). Our painting was signed by the artist with the famous kaufmann pseudonym "Leo Perla" which was one of the many pseudonyms adopted by artist Karl Kaufmann to circumvent the exclusion contracts of many 19th century art dealers . and the galleries forced their artists to sign. It was not uncommon for popular artists to have contracts in different galleries under different names; this allowed them to offer their works in different places without breaking any legally binding contractual agreement. They were thus able to obtain more sales.
