Louis XVI period. signed "Devilaine à Paris" watchmaker listed in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers. Made of a mixture of white and black marble and a fine ornamentation, finely chiseled, in gilded bronze with mercury.
Architecture with two columns carved with grooves. supported by an outline of water leaves and decorated with garlands. ending with beautiful flower vases. Adorned at the top of a covered vase and openwork handles. Large domed white enamel dial accompanied by fine golden hands, protected by a domed glass. The space between the columns is occupied by a garland of wrapped laurel laurel leaves and a sun pendulum, oscillating with great amplitude in operation.
Massive rounded marble base decorated with friezes matching the shape of the marble and a row of pearls. The assembly rests on four spinning feet.
Original mechanism without modification, suspension with silk thread, striking hours and half hours on an old bell.
