Beautiful romantic oval portrait dated 1849 and representing a young boy named Ramon Romani and painted at the age of 13.the portrait is charming and painted on metal, probably a zinc plate. annotations on the back. the portrait is very well treated as the clothes, the young boy wears a decoration on the reverse of his jacket.
frame with oval view of the original restoration period, very acceptable despite a few small gaps.
painting on zinc remains rather unusual, the irregularities of the metal results in indirect light in surface differences, however it is not repainted.
