Patron Saint of the medical professions, miracle worker and protector of animals, St Roch born in Montpellier around 1348 is here represented in Romieu pilgrim dress, showing his wound, a dog at his side. Finely carved this beautiful terracotta has preserved some remains of its polychromy. Very good state of conservation for an outdoor terracotta from the early XIXth century. Miss the Bumblebee and little accident in the dog's mouth. Languedoc, circa 1830-1840.
