André-paul Basset (1759-1829) dit "Basset fils" succeeded his father André Basset dit "Basset le Jeune" (.... / 1787) in his workshop located Rue Saint Jacques in Paris. These perspective engravings, enhanced with watercolors, were contemplated through a Zograscope to create the illusion of relief, much appreciated in the 18th century, they are a testimony to the Age of Enlightenment.
