"Schulz Mechanical Folding Globe, 1825-1830"
Small German folding terrestrial globe, dated around 1825-1830, by FGSchulz in Stuttgart. The globe is made up of six spindles printed in lithography and enhanced in color. The spindles are 175 mm high. A double mechanism made of cords makes it possible to inflate the globe. The paper is in very good condition and the mechanism works perfectly. The globe is kept in its folding booklet entitled "Darstellung der fünf Welttheile durch Zusammensetzung in eine Kugel eahnliche Gestalt, zum leichteren Vorstellung und Gebrauch beim geographschen Unterricht in Schulen über die Beschaffenheit & Eintheilung der Erde. The 15 illustrations of indigenous peoples from different parts of the world are missing if not in good condition.
