Hermès, Bronze From The XIXth Century flag

Object description :

"Hermès, Bronze From The XIXth Century"
Large bronze Hermes tying his sandals. Hermès or Mercury appears to us in this beautiful bronze in the guise of a young man busy tying his sandals on a rock.
this beautiful neoclassical bronze is of very good quality and its patina is golden but slightly oxidized.
the god has a superb face and he rests on a block of lightly worked granite.
there is a small lack of bronze at the level of the link of his garment.
Perhaps he was carrying a quiver ...
as it dates from the first half of the 19th century it is melted in several parts and one of the arms moves slightly.
a very beautiful bronze of very good quality with a superb neoclassical aesthetic.
