" Clock "pensive Young Woman" Era Charles X 1840"

Large pendulum of very beautiful manufacture. Charles X period around 1840, signed on the dial "C. Detouche, supplier of the Emperor, rue Saint Martin in Paris". watchmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers.

Finely chiseled and richly decorated bronze. covered with a very beautiful mercury gilding. Large sculpture with the figure of a young woman with a pensive expression. depicted in a stylized nature setting.

White enamel dial accompanied by fine needles with openwork ends. Large flared base decorated with a large frieze of flowers supported by scrolls.

Original mechanism without modification, wire suspension, striking hours and half hours on old bell.

Pendulum of excellent manufacture, very beautiful mercury gilding, finely chiseled bronze. Perfect authenticity and a remarkable state of conservation.
