Louis XVI Period Fireplace Plate

Rare Louis XVI period fireplace mantel melted in the 18th century beautifully crafted, in the center a couple on the Camino de Santiago, as evidenced by Monsieur, the gourd, the lantern and the scallops and Madame la lanterne as well as their pilgrim sticks and arrows on their clothes to signify their love. A ribbon knot links the two trees of life represented by two flowering branches which unite at the top of the plate.
