This qualitative vase of flowers (oil painting on canvas, 88 x 59 cm) presents the particular characteristics that lead the author to this group of Roman Floridians, perfectly matching the examples ofMario Nuzzi dei Fiori, better known as "Mario dei Fiori", the greatest performer of the seventeenth century. The mimetic performance of the individual flowers - in which, besides the usual carnations, roses and tulips, are also the white campanulas and the small roses - is entrusted to a meticulous linear action and luminous chromatic ranges, especially for those struck by a direct light source, from right to left and from bottom to top. A result that appears, as indicated, perfectly in line with the examples of Nuzzi, the undisputed protagonist of his sector, with which the author of this painting shows a direct relationship. Based on this stylistic analysis, we can trace one of the "flourishing" female characters that has established itself in this genre, namelyLaura Bernasconi, called Laura dei Fiori, considered by many biographers as the best among the students of the world. Mario Nuzzi's workshop. A painter who, without having the same celebrity as his teacher, can boast of the mention of distinguished biographers, feedback reserved for some "naturamortisti", if not as excellent as that of Mario dei Fiori.
