Astonishing well-preserved portrait of a young man, a daguerreotype signed on the back, mid-19th century, which bears a marked resemblance to Louis Napoleon, future Napoleon III, his left hand in the waistcoat like the illustrious ancestor (but: the line in hair on the right, which the future Emperor never had).
Black wooden frame, gilt brass entourage and false tortoise shell framing, trace of label on the back of the copper.
