"Large Oil Suspension In Gien Faience 1880 Period Signed Dominique Grenet"
Rare oil pendant lamp in Gien earthenware signed with the monogram of Dominique Grenet. Dominique Grenet (1821-1885) was the workshop manager of the Gien factory around 1880. The earthenware basin is decorated with neo-renaissance decor of three faces. Bronze and brass frame with black patina. The windings are pierced to be able to electrify the whole. The chain system was undoubtedly provided with a counterweight which is now absent, making it possible to adjust the overall height. The mechanism is complete with its wick. The chandelier consists of 9 bobeches with their small cups (missing a cup). The white opaline glass globe is not the original one. Max height: 1m42 Max width: 54 cm
