"Diptych Religious Fz Binden 55 X 66 - XIX"
This singular and rare diptych is part of a lot of six nuns (sold by two later), all apparently from the same congregation of Bénédictine (see the heart hammered silver which they all wear as well as the tricolor knot) signed by three distinct painters including a German or Swiss and dated between 1911 and 1953 -The second batch here of two portraits is signed FZ Binden 1922 - Size: 55 x 66 - 53.5 x 66 cm
These women have in common a great serenity, a fascinating sketch, they are fulfilled, far from the futile contingencies of our world - It must also be said that the religious in my journey has had a very ambivalent influence to say the least, attraction and rejection mingling -
Despite my research I have not s found biographical elements for this painter FZ Binden - It must also be said that if it was a religious who painted this canvas, humility must have been taken into account -
These two portraits are of invoice and very different period , the second approaching by its almost monochrome the primitive Italians - It must be a superior mother, older facing the heart of the congregation, a large wooden cross -
The second was re-lined - Sold as is, see photos to watch carefull
