Important Chimney Plate At The Temple

Important chimney plate dating from the XVIIth century decorated with a brooch coat of arms during the Revolution *, where three stars remain, surrounded by a cord and located in the center of a temple.
Its weight is 310 kg.

* On the 21 Vendémiaire of year II (October 12, 1793) the national convention decrees "within one month the owners of houses will be required to return all the plates of fireplaces or counter-fires which will bear signs of feudalism or the old shield of France… ", for many of these plates the symbols of nobility were leveled with a chisel, particularly in Franche-Comté, in order to keep them for domestic use without fear of reprisals.
