"Tabernacle Of A Cloister, Carved Wood, Gilded, 17th Century Italy"
Exceptional tabernacle coming from a cloister in Italy (Tuscany?), In wood, gilded, richly carved with decoration of fruit falls in garlands on each side. The two sides are carved in low relief representing a bouquet of Acanthes leaves. The tabernacle door shows a representation of Jesus Christ (resurrection) "Salvator mundi". Inside is its authentic curtain (embroidered silk). Its above shield (broken in two parts (reinforced and screwed behind), dominated by an angel's head, surrounded by acanthus leaves (partially reconstituted). Object of Catholic worship from the XVIIth State restored; small accidents and losses ( the gilding.).The gallery at the top is completely rebuilt.
