"19th Century Pair Of Italian Empire Console With Black Marble Tops "
19th century Pair of Italian Empire Console with black marble tops This elegant pair of Empire consoles was made in the 18th century in Tuscany (Italy). The consoles have a marble top of great value, plated in Aquitania black marble (from the homonymous historical region of France), or “black and white of France” from the 17th century.
The consoles have on the front a large drawer decorated with sockets and applications in gilded bronze and finely chiselled.Laterally there are represented some harps with ribbons and volutes, while in the centre two griffins with garlands and leafy elements surround symmetrically the mouth of the lock.
The consoles rest on four columns with capitals and golden bronze base that are inserted on a mixed base.
Due to their small size and their distinctly decorative character, these consoles can be easily inserted into your homes, combined with antique or modern furnishings.
