Glazed earthenware vase with blue and turquoise Iznik style patterns by Edmond Lachenal. Signed, France, circa 1890. Edmond Lachenal (1855-1948) became an apprentice potter in 1867 then was hired by Théodore Deck in 1875. He created his own workshop in 1881, where he continued the research he had undertaken with his master, and continued to produce iznik style pieces. He collaborates with several sculptors and participates in numerous exhibitions. He obtains a gold medal at the Paris universal exhibition in 1889. He stops his career as a ceramist in 1904.
