"Imari Porcelain Cup"
Important porcelain bowl with Imari decoration, Japan or China, early 19th century. Very fine and neat decor, enhanced with gold. We can see around the cup and inside the flowers of prunus, peonies, (symbols of wealth, distinction, eternal youth), and the phoenix, messenger of peace and good omens in Asia: this beautiful, rare, fragile and precious object was probably intended to be given as a present to a loved one.
